What first got you into music?
I started loving music as a child and wanted to sing ever since I first went to church. The joy I felt when I heard the praise, was and is, still something that touches the deepest parts of my soul.
Who inspired you to make music?
Ya know, Love actually inspired me to begin writing music. I was so enthralled with the feeling of being loved (and truly feeling it) my way to express myself was through music. I shifted for a while with writing poetry and am now coming back to my first love, melodic poetry aka music.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
My music is fueled by love. Whether it is the absence of it or the overwhelming presence that is, I move with its rhythm and allow it to speak through me. Sooooo music that helps with all aspects of Love.
What is your creative process like?
I am an emotional creator so if I’m not “feelin it” I don’t want to do it. That doesn’t mean I won’t though. Soooo, I usually get into my own zone through listening to my faves already in the music industry or I do a meditation session to connect me closer to my creativity. Really though, I feel like Spirit be like “Go” and I GO!

Local: Summer SideNote, Autumn RainWater, Celeste Moonchild, WaltB3, Avery Jacobs, SirAbstraxx, and so much more.

How you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
What first got me into music was hearing Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, & Prince throughout the walls of my mothers’ home as a child and growing up in church.
What kind of training have you had, if any?
My ancestors inspire me to make music because they are living through me.
What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
The music that I typically create is authentic and straight from the heart. I know that someone can visualize what comes out of my music and can relate.
How did you get the gig?
My creative process typically begins with meditating first to clear my energy then pick up a pen and paper to write down my thoughts, experiences, feelings and make them come to life on a beat. I may even hear and feel the beat first then make magic off of the beat. It could take me 10 minutes or 10 hours to write a masterpiece.
What sports do you enjoy watching?
I would love to collab with J. Cole because he is the epitome of me. He doesn’t let the industry change him for the worse in fact he is changing the game for the better. I’ve seen nothing but growth from him spiritually as well as a businessman with Dreamville.
What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
If I could open a show for anyone it would have to be J. Cole. I went to one of his concerts and the energy was there!! I’m sure the people would love my inner G.
