Interview with music artist “Promise”
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
My artist name is Promise, and I have made my own genre: Glitch Phonk. I’ve always wanted to make music so this is a dream come true, some of my influences have been Good Charlotte, Lil Peep, and Freddie Dredd.
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
The only training I’ve had is watching a few youtube tutorials, and a few small internet courses.
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favorite project to work on so far has been an EP with Jide Oga called I CXN GXT IGNXRXNT.
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
The advice I would give is to just do your own thing and to focus on that, not on other people who might try to copy that as it will only make you worry about that, not about your own music.
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
The only sport I enjoy watching is MMA, because the fights are real, and the fighters really push their limits in all of the fights.
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
The biggest highlights of my carreer have been getting verified and reaching over 10k followers on Soundcloud, and the fact that i have already produced over 100 songs.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
One day I hope to get a chance to work with DJ Yung Vamp, DJ SMOKEY 666 or.MC Holocaust.
Q: What projects do you have coming up?
One of my upcoming projects is a glitch phonk song called Ignorant rockstar,
Q: Who is your inspiration?
My biggest inspirations are phonk producers such as: DJ Yung Vamp, DJ SMOKEY 666, Ryan C. and LXST CXNTURY.
Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
The most interesting thing I have read this week would have to be a book called The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene.
Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?
So far I’ve only had one show so I can’t really answer this one yet, but hopefully, I’ll be able to soon.
