Interview with Music Artist Chantz Marie
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work — and who were some of your influences growing up?
Hi! my name is chantz marie I’m a music artist living in the UK. I’ve been involved in music for over 5 years. I decided to give it a go as friends and family had said I have a nice voice. My main influence was my mum at the time.
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
I had no official training in music but years of experience and I’ve been performing in venues for over 4 years.
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favourite has to be my album which will be out on March 17th. I’ve been working on it for some years now.
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
I’m not a huge sports fan but I like to watch the 100 meters running and I like watching boxing.
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
One of my biggest achievements has to be when I was awarded best upcoming artist 2018. That was memorable.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
Drake, lil kim, spice, shaggy maybe even Idris.
Q: What projects do you have coming up?
Upcoming includes performing at Global Rythm reggae and jazz Festival on July 2nd, I’m looking forward to that. Also my album drop in a week or so.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
I’m inspired by my mum. She’s been a big influence in my life.
Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
I’ve not really seen anything amazing this week I’ve been so busy and wrapped up in releasing my album.
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
Venues include O2 academy, different club venues and community events.
