Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
Hello, my name is Brody Mullikin I am the creator behind Strange Days. I got into music when I first played the guitar when I was around the age of 6, I am 23 now. The biggest influences in my music are Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Eagles, Supertrampmp, and all music from ‘60s-’70s
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
I am a self-taught musician
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favorite project is definitely my debut into the song-writing world which would be my album Summer Red. It was a blast to work on.
Q: How did you get the gig?
After making multiple songs for the first time I remember telling myself I could be like Pink Floyd and all those other greats and so I just kept making it and then sooner or later after coming up with a concept Summer Red appeared.
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
Honestly, I don’t enjoy watching sports too much, I prefer to play them instead, however, I have a fancy for UFC.
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
The first thing that comes to mind is my Summer Red project. It took about 4 years as I wanted to learn each instrument since I couldn’t find anyone and I’m very proud of the fact I kept pushing.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
Definitely David Gilmour. He is just an amazing artist and songwriter with such an immense feel to his instrument.
Q: What projects do you have coming up?
I’m currently in the midst of releasing a new album. I’ve taken a different route this time which is releasing each song from the album and then once the last song is released I will re-release it as an album.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration is the countless artist who made a name for themselves, especially the ones who went through so much to get there. I admire their dedication and the fact they held on because they could envision themselves where they are today.
Q: How did you come up with the idea for your Music video?
My music video for my song “My Lady” I came up with the video the instant I made the song. I had the exact location picked out as I was there from the very beginning and the rest just fell in place.
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
Keep on making music and believe in yourself. If you can visualize it and in the end believe you are what you want to be you will become.
