Interview with Music Artist Alex Genadinik Releases his New Single “The One Who Didn’t”
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work and who were some of your influences growing up?
Alex Genadinik is a singer-songwriter based in NYC. He was born in Odessa, Ukraine and his musical style and songwriting is influenced by some of the Russian 20th-century greats like Bulat Okudzhava and Vladmir Vysotsky. He is also influenced by Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
Alex has had some guitar and vocal training as well as training in songwriting.
Q: What has been your favorite project to work on so far?
So far, my favorite project has been the song “Oh Michelangelo” which didn’t come out as good as I wanted in terms of melody. I think it could have been better and it’s currently being revised. But the lyrics are Alex’s favorite:
Q: How did you get the gig?
It’s all Alex’s initiative. His goal is to become a known singer-songwriter.
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
Soccer. Alex is a former semi-professional soccer player.
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
Making music that people actually like and write kind messages about. Now, almost daily, there are pleasant messages on YouTube about how a song made people feel and how nice it is that Alex shared it. This is truly special and the reason to make music in the first place.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
Someone who writes imaginatively and creatively.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Russian 20th century bard poets and songwriters.
Q: What ís the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
The most interesting this that happened this week happened is in Alex’s main business, which is in the business-training field. That is great reassurance that Alex is able to help people achieve their goals. It’s a big reward after a lot of hard work.
