INTERVIEW: Thousandnaire C Quel releases new single ‘REAL WORLD’ and On Tour with Def Jam
Q: Hi (Thousandnaire C Quel), thank you for taking the time out for this interview. How are you today?
I’m blessed to be able to wake up and have another chance at life . Especially when u come from where I come from I’m just happy to wake up and be living my dreams.
What have you been up to recently?
Right now I’m On the Def Jam Streets Most Wanted Tour for 16 days. The tour is crazy it’s non-stop work I got to visit a middle school and talk to the football team and its constant radio interviews. I know u can tell I’m excited I’m just blessed to be here and having the platform for the world to hear me.
Q: Your brand new single, can you tell us more about the song?
Yea the song is called “Real World” it's featuring former Rocafella singer young steff who had the big record slow juking back in the day. Me and him connected soon as we met it was like magic. We both were at low points in life from me dealing with transitioning from the streets my brothers dien and going to the feds. While he was going threw career changes and relationship problems. We both felt the vibe and wanted to give the world us on this record because we know a lot of people go threw what we go threw on even higher levels. Maybe we can help others get threw the day by listening to are song real world.
Q: What was it that made you decide to become a rap artist?
It was really an outlet for me I was always quiet growing up I remember doing music and letting people hear it and they are like that’s you lol. I was like yea then they would say that don’t sound like u. I was always thinking because I don’t talk much. But music became my passion a way for me to be heard. And since a lot of people from the projects were I grew up has no voice I chose to use this platform to speak for them to speak for us.
Q: What does this song mean to you?
It means a lot it's my true pain my experience within the last year I almost lost my life because of someone’s envy towards my success. Going threw outgrowing family and friends. Just truly growing up and finding who I am and whats my purpose and not really caring about how other people viewed me. I always say being real is not compromising who u are for money or fame or for other peoples acceptance. And that’s what the song means to me and no matter what the clouds cant be out forever the sun will shine again u just gotta fight threw the storm and not give up.
Q: Can you share the story behind the music career?
It’s been a long journey I been doing music since 2002 almost 20 years my cousin who used to write my music before I even knew how to rap died a few years later to the streets. I always felt like it was my fault because he looked up to me and followed me in the wrong direction. Every day I’m still fighting those demons but I always think about what he always wanted what we always wanted and that was to tour are music around the world and to one Day Be On Bet Or Mtv. I feel like I owe him that and I won’t stop until it's done and at this moment I’m living it.
Q: Can you tell us what it was like to write the song?
It's crazy because I don't write music I don't like to feel boxed in I just like for it to come out how I feel at that moment. I believe everything is about the moment it's about energy. I dropped my verse and sent it over to my brother Young Steff and he felt the pain in my voice and he took it to a whole other level that's how u got the song Real World.
Q: What are your thoughts on the music video? What story does it tell?
The music video tells the same story but in a visual way. Me being tied up and expressing what I been threw to a girl that I hurt in the past for my selfish ways. It was my cry out saying I was willing to give all this up to be free. Young steff was reminiscing the old days he was signed to Rocafella and it all going bad the Rocafella dynasty.

Q: You recently on tour with def jam, how do it feel touring over there?
It feels amazing city after city club after club touching people is super important.
Q: Any plans to tour anywhere else? We’d love to see you back in the UK.
yea! I plan on touring in the Bahamas and also in the Uk, I can’t wait to.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about being on stage and touring in different countries?
Being able to tell my story and to be one with the people I really believe in energy u get what u put out and this coming from the heart.
Q: We know how much you love gigging all around the world. What cities and countries do you hope to visit next year?
I hope to visit the moon because of I’m ready to take off lol
Q: Can we expect you to perform at more festivals soon?
yes many as soon as this tour over I will be at the A3c which is one of the biggest music festivals in Atlanta Ga
Q: And, finally, your love of your fans is so lovely to see, do you have a message for all your Club Rockers around the world?
