Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?

I am a musician called Azwel who won't stop making music- The new album, Halcyon may or may not be the last public album though. I feel I’ve finally put it all out there. I’m influenced by everything. I can't even start to name a list of artists or things outside of music.

Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?

A few guitar lessons, but that's about it. Picked up the keyboard on my own. No vocal training either, but that's usually the case for most singers.

Q: What has been your favourite album to work on so far?

I never think of the process. The best part is when the album is done. I always just want to be at the end of the process. I guess, the most fun I've had was maybe the last album since it was written and recorded so fast. The new one took a year. But I wasn't stuck on anything. I just did a lot of songs. An album like “fact and fantasy” was annoying to make because there were so many trial and error.

Q: Describe the new album coming up

Like most albums I do, there’s a lot to it. It took a long time to do. I recorded around 30 songs. I'm going to release most of them. Usually, I just release 11 or so. There are only 4 or 5 songs I’d say are really ‘b-side quality.’ I tried doing things differently. The stuff on the ‘2nd disc’ is a bit cultural sounding.

Q: Is there a music video or a single?

A video for “The Henchmen” is being released. I have no idea what it looks like yet, I asked someone to do it, and hopefully, I like it. Videos are always secondary anyway. I wouldn't even call it a “single.” I'm not following any sort of radio promo this time. I see all the songs on the album as equals.

Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?

Anywhere that has a stage and audience. I need to get to other countries one day.

Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?

Get on youtube/social, follow trends, socialize, and monetize. Not that I’ve followed any of these. But for your career, this is probably something you want to do.
