Behind the Music: Lëe Brœwn Talks New Single ‘Trust Issues’ and Creative Journey
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and what made you want to become a musician?
I’m Lëe Brœwn, an executive producer, and singer-songwriter who blends the vibrant energy of dance, the raw authenticity of hip-hop, and the soothing embrace of lo-fi to create music that resonates with listeners worldwide. Music has always been my constant companion whether during life’s storms or moments of peace. It’s my way of expressing emotions, telling stories, and offering hope to those going through tough times.
Q: Lëe Brœwn, Can you tell us about your new Single “Trust Issues”
“Trust Issues” was inspired by my personal journey through relationships — experiencing heartbreak, betrayal, and disappointment over the years. Now that I’ve finally found someone I truly care about, the ghosts of my past keep creeping in, making it hard to fully trust and open up. It’s a constant battle between wanting to believe in love again and struggling with the scars left behind. This song captures that emotional tug-of-war, the fear of history repeating itself, and the hope that love can overcome doubt. Despite all the challenges, I’m determined to make it work because love is worth the risk.
Q: Who has been your most influential teacher or mentor?
My greatest mentor has been life itself. I draw inspiration from every experience, challenge, and emotion I encounter. I’m constantly learning from the people around me, the music I listen to, and the struggles I’ve faced. Every moment is an opportunity to grow and refine my craft.
Q: What are your favourite musical genres, and do you dislike any of them?
I don’t limit myself to specific genres; I find inspiration in everything from lo-fi, reggae, R&B, and hip-hop, to ambient sounds. Each genre brings something unique to the table, and I love blending elements to create something fresh. I wouldn’t say I dislike any genre music is all about perspective and emotion.
Q: What would you say is your greatest weakness as an artist?
One of my biggest challenges is overthinking. Sometimes, I get caught up in perfecting every detail, which can slow down my creative process. I’m learning to trust my instincts more and let the music flow naturally.
Q: In terms of the overall composition, what is your favourite song and why?
Right now, I don’t really have a favorite so I can’t really answer.
Q: What kind of music artist would you classify yourself as?
I’d describe myself as a storyteller through sound. Looking to connect with people emotionally.
Q: Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
I’ve been inspired by countless artists across different genres, but more than anything, it’s the feeling music gives me that pushed me into this journey. Seeing how music can impact people, bring comfort, and create lasting memories made me want to be a part of it.
Q: Would you agree that it is very important to learn, study, and understand old music and music history?
Absolutely. Music is constantly evolving, but understanding its roots helps artists innovate while staying true to what makes music timeless. Learning from the greats and studying different styles gives me a deeper appreciation for my craft.
Q: Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
Right now, I’m more focused on creating and releasing music rather than performing live. My goal is to build an immersive listening experience through my tracks, but live performances could be in the future.
Q: What’s next for you?
My next big project is TBD
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
Stay true to your sound and your vision. Don’t get caught up in trends or comparisons — focus on creating music that speaks to you and resonates with others. Stay consistent, be patient, and remember that growth takes time.
