An Interview With The LeGacy On New Music and More!

Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
Hi, my name is the LeGacy pronounced legacy the G is capital to remind me I am under a God-king of the universe. I am from Queens New York but my parents are from Haiti(mom) and Nigeria(dad). Growing up I was a huge Usher fan danced liked him and wanted to be just like him. So whenever I wrote a song or did a performance I would try to be just like him. I have been writing music since I was thirteen but released my first album in 2018. My love for music has always been there I decided to give it my all and fortunately, I have gained fans and success is growing. I am grateful for it all
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
I haven’t had any music training just learned on my own
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My latest single is currently my favorite project only because I learned so much from my first album that I had feedback and a better understanding of my sound and what people wanted to hear from me as an artist
Q: How did you get the gig?
I believe one of my fans submitted my music to the right people who reached out to me
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
I am a huge basketball fan, I love it so much I play NBA 2k every day on my Xbox
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
So far being able to open up for hip-hop legend KRS-1 and having my music stream grow while gaining fans
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
Drake, He understands music and is diverse in his style of music which I appreciate
Q: What projects do you have coming up?
I have a new single called player 2 I’m going to release in October that is a Caribbean pop track about how playing video games actually saves relationships
Q: Who is your inspiration?
My daughter, she is someone with a really big heart and a bigger personality. She told me she wants a big house with an indoor pool
Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
The weather change about global warming, I think the global community needs to address things as a unity to solve this problem
Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?
I Like lounges and clubs because it’s an intimate setting and when you bring that energy you can see everyone’s facial expression and joy

Q: How did you come up with the idea for your Music video?
The music video for the song YOU concept was originated by the director James Serpico. He likes the line in the song “you’re like a dark fantasy” and filmed based off of that one line
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
Please do not quit, please be open to criticism, please don’t be afraid to try new things, please do not be afraid to share your music, it’s ok to fail as long as you learn from it and improve
Q: Who were the biggest inspirations for your career?
My daughter, I want her to enjoy life with no financial worries
