Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?

I go by the name Chavyn Jaice aka Captain Suavé, I started making music when I was 15 with help from a great man and figure of the name Jason Andrews. What drove to create however was watching and listening to Chris Brown and James Brown growing up.

Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?

I am self taught. I started singing when I was 12. The first video I ever took of myself singing was This Christmas by Chris Brown. I only sent that video to my mom. But I used to be in choir in middle school but was never confident with my singing ability so after I sang the song This Christmas I would send videos around every so often.

Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?

I just recently started working on my first EP titled E for Everyone. There’s a single on there that I value quite highly right now called ESRB. It’s the intro track to the EP. My mother cried when she heard it and it was fun making in the studio with B Young. I did it in one take too, but the lyrics are the best part for real.

Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?

I really enjoy watching basketball. I used to only watch the finals but now I watch the whole season. Truly because of Giannis. He has become my favorite player, I love his style and he himself makes the game interesting. He even inspired me to play the game again. I’ve learned to value the game more solely because of him.

Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?

My song Deciduous Tendencies got played on a radio in Tallahassee, Florida. To me, that was a big deal.

Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?

I would easily want to work with Marshmello or DJ Snake. The emotion and energy they inspire through their production would be an honor to be a part of.

Q: What projects do you have coming up?

I have a new EP title E for Everyone coming soon!

Q: Who is your inspiration?

My inspirations range far, as far as inspiration goes. When you get to a certain point you really find inspiration and beauty in anything anyone does because it is so unique to that individual. I would have to say my top five at the moment are Shawn Mendes, Chris Brown, Lil Uzi, Tank, and Donald Glover.

Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

I watched a body language analyst try to determine if a man who claims he worked on UFO’s before was lying or not. At the end of the video he says that he didn’t pick up on any signs of lying, so that was interesting.

Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?

Any of them as long as my friends are there.

Q: Social Profiles

Twitter:

Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?

Never make music a job, there’s no fun there. It’s music, which is just your emotion personified. You don’t want to put annoyance in your music trust me hahaha. You want to keep it fun and you’ll never burn out.
