An Interview with Music Artist TULIMERI
Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
I am 42 years guy from Lapland, Finland and I make some 80’s style music with modern vibes. I have always loved music like Madonna, Pet Shop Boys and George Michael. But I am pretty hit music lover that I love single hit songs. Not only artists.
Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?
I was studying at MI in 2014. Though I honestly say that I haven’t studied very much. I have mostly self-studied.
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
My favourite project was when I had honour to co-operate with legendary Finnish composer Jonne “Purple Motion” Valtonen. We made a song called
“The Dance Of The Northern Lights”.
Q: How did you get the gig?
I admired his music during the years and encouraged myself to ask whether he could co-operate with me.
Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?
I love ice-hockey. I was actually watching the games at the Kosice in Slova-kia and it was cool, especially when Finland won. I did foresee it even some people doubted it.
Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?
Well... Not many achievements but I have been a DIY guy and I did everything
pretty much by myself so despite success is quite small I am anyway done
12 singles.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
I don’t know names but some cool guy who can make a modern and cool sound.
Q: What projects do you have coming up?
My next project is my old song behind 9 years, no philosophy tonight. It’s a pop/rock song with electric groove. I used some better players from London and Serbia but I was the conductor.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration is all the DIY people who do not have easy but keep struggling. I admire also people are in the public eye. It’s not easy when people are counting you every move. And social media can destroy you.
Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
I have read “Manafest’s book” written by Chris Greenwood, Fighter, which is a really inspiring and tempting book about the struggle in the life and music business.
Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?
Hmm, I dream of performing somewhere abroad.
Q: How did you come up with the idea for your Music video?
I just shot some clips and the conductor did an awesome job in editing the video.
Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?
“Dream big”. Even the environment do not probably support or understand you, keep doing. One day you will succeed — at least at some level. Be careful (do not mistakes I’ve made) with the social media and youtube. I am an open-minded YouTuber. I honestly say it’s better to keep some privacy and be a mystery guy.
Q: Who were the biggest inspirations for your career?
Madonna and George Michael.
