Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
A: My name is Jeremy “Tamaskin” Hobbs And I got into music from my initial love if sound creation and sound design. I figured I might as well spend the rest of my days doing something I love so why not this.
Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?
A: My upcoming album that I plan on releasing in October called “Moonriders” has definitely been my favorite so far. It features so many different underground producers and artists that I’m grateful to share my platform with because of how talented they are. I want to be able for them to get the credit they deserve.
Q: Your new single ‘what’s the Danger’ is out and Who inspired you. Can you talk us through that?
A: My friend Hi-def actually produced that whole song right in front of me in like 5 minutes. He was definitely a huge inspiration in the creation and the lyrics for that song.
Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?
A: I believe my skillset in a studio setting would mesh well with anyone’s vision to create something really cool, so honestly not anyone in particular. I just like being in an environment where I get to make new things with people who are creative and go from there.
Q: How did you come up with the title?
A: I want to make people feel and believe that they can achieve anything they really put their minds to. I want people to be able to laugh in the face of fear and conquer whatever they set their souls out to do. So that’s where I came up with the phrase “what’s the danger” cause whatever you are going through, there can always be good that comes from it if you allow it.
Q: What was the recording process for ‘what’s the Danger’?
A: We recorded the whole album in 6 days. Music is an obsession for me so once I start the process I don’t do anything else until it’s finished and it’s all out of my system. Which is honestly never ha.
Q: What artists are inspiring you at the moment?
A: The local artist that I’m around in LA inspire me every step of the way for my creative process, artist like 4DHxH, Spencer Bonds, Hi-Def, Yaotlito are the ones who get my creativity flowing.
Q: You have collaborated with some impressive artists over the last few years — who is on your dream list of people to work with?
A: Quincy Jones before he retires is the one person I must work with
Q: What moment are you most proud of?
A: The Tour I just got off of in Arizona really opened up my eyes to how talented everyone I am around is. It is the moment so far I’m the most proud of because I got the share that experience with amazing people who believed in me before anyone else did.
Q: What are some of your favourite tracks from the EP and why?
A: “Man on a mission” and “Roll It” are definitely my two favorite tracks off the album. Every time I hear those songs being played they make me feel like I’ve arrived as an artist but they also make me feel I way more to prove to the world as well.
