An Interview with Music Artist Kira
Q: Please introduce yourself and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?
My name is Kira (ky•ra) and I am an independent music artist, born and raised in Los Angeles California. I am currently entering my 3rd year at university. I am studying music and fashion and hope to pursue both! I have been playing and writing music since I was 12 when my dad got me my first guitar. I self-taught myself guitar, ukulele, and banjo. I also play the piano and flute. What got me into pursuing music was my middle school band teacher, where I learned how to play the flute. He really showed me his love for music, which made me realize how much I loved music. Some of my influences growing up were destiny’s child, no doubt, and Justin Timberlak.
