Q: Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work –and who were some of your influences growing up?

My name is Derrick McCorkle aka I Sixty Five I begin music at a early age an began writing my own lyrics at the age of 10. The group’s that influenced me were Roger and Zapp, Lakeside and Ohio players.

Q: What kind of training have you had, if any?

I attended Fail Sail University for a better understanding for music. 3.

Q: What has been your favourite project to work on so far?

My favorite project I enjoy working on was Raindrops.

Q: How did you get the gig?

I got the gig by promoting my music on different websites and social media.

Q: What sports do you enjoy watching?

I enjoy watching basketball and football.

Q: What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?

The biggest achievement of my career was doing business with Bandgang/ Bungalow Records/ Universal Music Group.

Q: If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?

If I had a choice to work with would be South Maine, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Scarface.

Q: What projects do you have coming up?

I have a few my project in the making Where U From, Living It Up, Run Up A Check, and Raindrops Remix.

Q: Who is your inspiration?

2Pac, Scarface, NWA, Bigg Small, and UGK were my inspiration.

Q: What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

The most interesting thing I’ve read was an article about being smarter business owners.

Q: What are your favorite venues to perform in?

My favorite venue to perform at is The War Memorial in Baltimore MD, Utopia Event Center in Montgomery AL and The Music Hall at Fair Park Dallas TX.

Q: How did you come up with the idea for your Music video?

I take the concept of the lyrics and put a visual to the lyrics then I find the right location for the idea.

Q: Do you have any advice for young music makers like yourself?

My advice to young up and coming artists is to believe in yourself and your craft, work hard, never give up, and stay focused on your goals

Q: Who were the biggest inspirations for your career?

Dr. Dre was my inspiration giving me good advice on my music and letting me know I could become a great entertainer one day
