Q: How did you discover your talent for film and video?

I discovered I liked the film when I was around 8 years old, my mother had an old Panasonic camera that she used earlier in the days. I would always take this camera and try and impersonate television shows, at this age I knew I have a passion for this type of stuff. When I discovered I had talent was probably a couple of years later when I would create little home movies and keep the attention of every adult who would watch it when I played it on the tv screen.

Q: What roadblocks did you faced when you were starting out?

Roadblocks are something that you are constantly going to be dealing with. Whether you are starting out or already involved in the industry. When it came to starting out, id has to say the biggest roadblock was having the concept/idea of what I wanted to achieve when I got older, and not knowing where to go next. This is the first and most important roadblock to overcome because this is what ultimately decides your fate. About a year later I came across a notable guy who saw my drive and ambition and was able to point me in the direction of someone with many resources that could help me get to where I wanted.

Q: What is your greatest achievement till date?

My own personal achievement, that I would consider the greatest is the amount of time and energy that was put into a television series that I am currently pitching to Netflix. I have spent two years perfecting a 1-page pitch document and putting the resources together to film a pilot episode. This concept was on my mind all day every day for two years and I put all my heart and soul into this project.

Q: How did you come up with the idea for your films?

For the most part, ideas come for experiences that I have personally had. For example the TV series that I am pitching is college based. A lot of experiences that I write and film about I get when im in the middle of experiencing them. I got the idea to create a college based TV show while I was at a party my freshman year of College.

Q: Can you tell us more about your upcoming project(s)

I have a documentary I just released that covered the story of a Metal of Honor recipient saving the lives of 44 men. And I am right now in the process of pitching a television series concept to Netflix, we are going to know more in the upcoming weeks.

Q: Do you have any advice for young filmmakers like yourself?

If you have a piece of work, you need to make it the best piece of work you possibly can. And please emphasis on the act of creation more than camera skills, editing techniques. Yes, these things are important, but please remember a great idea is worth millions, but camera skills and editing skills are a dime a dozen.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job, your career?

I'm free to create anything I want, and there is nothing limiting my potential anymore.

Q: Who were the biggest inspirations for your career?

Definitely Steven Spielberg, and James Cameron. These two people paved the path for future filmmakers and made a huge name for themselves in the process.

Q: What exactly do you do? What are your key responsibilities?

These ranges depending on the project. Nothing is ever exactly the same.

Q: Which film has inspired you the most?

James Camerons Avatar, The Great Gatsby (2013). And many classic TV shows such as Friends, How I Met Your Mother.

Q: If you got the opportunity to remake a classic, which one would you go for?

I would hands down want to remake The Great Gatsby. I love both of the movies very much, but that is the reason why I would want to remake. I think both these movies were created perfectly, so my remake would be held to a high standard, I could then push myself further than I ever did to get this done.
