An Exclusive interview with djsakisp label manager of legent records
Please introduce yourself to the readers and how you first got into this field of work?
l was born on the beautiful island of Zakynthos, in Greece. From an early age was interested in music. At the age of 10, l started lessons in classical guitar but he was interested in all kind of music until he listens for the first time the sound of electronic music. At this moment understands that electronic music has captured my heart. l keeps on listening to electronic music more and more and realized that l wanted to make people move in the rhythm of dance music. At the age of 14, he played as DJ in friends parties. Two years later he started performing as a DJ in small clubs and bars.
What exactly do you do? What are your key responsibilities in upcoming releases?
I am the general manager and A/R manager two very crucial position in a record label, I am responsible for the perfect operation of label and that everything works as it supposed to do. I have to listen all the demos we receive and value if they match with our music style in order to be included in out next releases. We have chosen tracks from producers who already have releases in our label but also and new talented artists. Our main target is the quality and not the quantity for that reason we release selected demos.
What were some of the main challenges and goals when starting out as a DJ and how have they changed over time?
When I started to play music 15 years ago, djing was very different than now. I used to play with pick up and we had different DJs as inspiration idols. Unfortunately, in our days djing has changed a lot and you can not be the only DJ, you have to make music, be social manager, be graphic designer, make PR in the clubs you are about to play for that reasons the original djing is in second place as track selection, beatmatching and the technic.
What kind of training have you had, if any?
I started experimenting in music creation and in 2007 I released my first single called ‘’Fall in Love’’ from Dance Records. I’m also hosting my own radio show ‘’The house of music Show’’ in Safari Radio 104.7 FM (Greece) every Friday 02:00 pm to 03:00 pm (GMT+2) and http://www.paris-one.com (France) every Sunday 13.00 pm to 14:00 pm (GMT+1)in addition sakis has made guest appearances at several radio stations like Alpha Radio (Sofia, Bulgaria), Mindradio (Athens, Greece), Traffic FM (Crete, Greece), Ibiza Live Radio (Ibiza, Spain) .
How did you come up with the idea for your Legent records 10 compilation?
This year Legent Records celebrates its 10th year anniversary, for this reason, we would like to do something different and we decided to create a compilation with the purpose to show the music style we represent.
Can you tell us more about your upcoming project(s)?
In Legent, Records we are focused on the promotion of compilation. Of course, we have already set releases for new singles every month till the end of the year from producers we cooperate and from new talented artists. Unfortunately, I cannot give more info now.
As you’re preparing your new track with Mike Newman, what are the kinds of things that you look for that you know will click with your listeners?
With mike, we had very good cooperation trying to release a house track with all the elements we meet in this type of music. I believe we did very nice work and our track will be released by whore house records in the upcoming future.
Can you tell us more about your upcoming project( “legent records 10 compilation”)?
We release a new compilation next month for celebrity 10 years of legent records also include a track of me inside the compilation also l have one more track that made with Mike Newman that release next months
