What first got you into music?

My earliest memories of music are from early childhood, sitting in the back seat of my mum’s car listening to the same mixtape she always played, by age 6 I was bopping along to artists from Queen to Bobby McFerrin.

Who inspired you to make music?

Although I am inspired musically by many artists; ranging from Adele, Sia and Amy Winehouse to Queen, Paramore and everything in between; my true inspiration came from the sheer confidence that my parents had in my ability to sing. (Looking back I really don’t know what they saw in me) I think they noticed that I’d really taken an interest in music at this point, and having their full support definitely enabled me to get to where I am today. I am forever grateful.

What is your creative process like?

Honestly, it’s all over the place. I’ll usually make up a little song in my head and get stuck with a catchy melody, then I’ll start to work around that. There’s a lot of trial and error in my writing, however I always keep hold of anything I could possibly use in the future.

What’s it like being signed to Big Condo Records?

Being signed to Big Condo Records is like having a second family. Not only do I have the most supportive manager and artists around me, but they’re also my best friends. We all have each other’s back, not just through the creative process but through life in general and the way they look after you as an artist is amazing.

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

No brainer. Paramore. Hayley Williams is the biggest inspiration to me and has been for years. Her representation as a strong independent female who radiates confidence, empathy and growth are core values I hold close to my heart and always will.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Something I always say to myself and those around me is “it’s nice to be nice”. Yes, it’s simple but I think currently it is so important for us to all to look out for each other, be supportive and remember that everybody is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

Everyone knows Royzy Rothschild, he’s your manager, what’s it like being managed by Royzy?

Royzy gets you motivated. Having a down day? He’s there to pick you up and remind you why you’re here in the first place. He’s not one to beat around the bush though and will tell you how it is — good or bad! With that said, our relationship gets stronger every day as it is refreshing to have an unbiased and honest take on my music, enabling me to continuously grow. Love ya Royzy!

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Does a duck say quack? Haha. I sing EVERYTHING in the shower! Close my eyes, grab the shampoo bottle, and pretend I’m on stage — you know the boogie. Now I’ve been listening to a lot of Willow Smith. I get too into it sometimes and my neighbours probably hate me.

If you didn’t get signed to Big Condo Records, what would you be doing?

I think I’d still be busking and playing in local bars. I don’t think I’d be close to releasing any music officially as I have struggled a lot in the past with self-doubt, something Royzy has been a massive help with.

Where have you performed? What is your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

I’ve performed in quite a lot of venues over the last year. To name a few: The Shipping Forecast, Phase One, Museum of Liverpool and Round the Corner. Personally, I don’t have a least favourite venue, but for the sole reason of feeling more connected to the audience I’d say The Shipping Forecast is one of my favourites.

What do you think your new single will achieve for you ?

This first release is really a milestone moment for my career. The song itself means a lot to me and talks about struggles of a past relationship (which I think most of us can relate to). I want you to hear this song and connect to it, cry if you need to, dance if you want to. I want to create a space for you to talk openly about life experiences, obstacles, achievements and feelings, judgement free.

What is your favourite cover song to perform?

I’m gonna have to say I Will Survive — Gloria Gaynor firstly because it’s empowering and never fails to create an energy in the room that is just indescribable. Secondly, I really connect with the message in the song about being strong and fearless when it comes to love.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

I’m all over the place. I’ve already said I love Paramore, and Willow Smith is awesome. YEBBA is someone I recently discovered who I am in absolute awe of. Queen is always there on a bad day to cheer me up. Sia’s writing style is something I really admire also. I could go on forever.

What would you like to say to everyone?

Hiiii! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me. I just want everyone to know that even in these hard times, we should always have each other to lean on. Choose your friends wisely and don’t let anyone get you down. Big Condo Records is the label and look out for my new music soon.
